The 25th Annual Mayor's Gala - 2011

During the 25th Annual Mayor's Gala, Mayor Hazel McCallion announced that the 2011 event would be the last. However, a new gala was spawned from the experience of the past 25 years and would be operated by the Living Arts Centre and called the Hazel McCallion Gala for the Arts.

In making the announcement, Mayor McCallion added:

"Since the Gala's inception, this premier social event has raised over $4 million dollars for arts, culture and heritage initiatives in our community and for that I am extremely proud. This event has had a great run. Twenty five years of wonderful memories. The Mayor's Gala achieved it's incredible success because of you, our patrons, volunteers and sponsors.
